AKA praises old school for banning racist Adam Catzavelos from premises

South African rapper AKA has lent his voice to the most contentious issue of the week so far: the reaction to Adam Catzavelos’s racist video
While the incident has invited a strong reaction from South Africans of all backgrounds, it has also reopened the debate around race relations in South Africa. Many people feel that statements such as those made by Catzavelos in his video (where he brazenly used the K-word) are a sign that racism has not ended in South Africa.

Touch My Blood rapper, AKA, was one of the loudest voices in the debate. He began by praising his old high school, St John’s College, for taking a strong stance against Catzavelos’ actions.

The business owner’s children are currently enrolled at the Johannesburg high school.

In a brief statement, St John’s College announced that Adam Catzavelos would not be allowed on the school premises.
