Tragedy as former Bafana Bafana Coach dies

Former Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana coach Ted Dumitru has passed away aged 76. 

Ted died after collapsing at a shopping mall on Thursday morning.

The Romanian-born, who arrived in the country in 1985, is still by far the most successful coach on the South African soil.

He was fondly nicknamed Master, The Professor and Mr Magic by South African fans.

He led both Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs to the national League title twice and earned a total of 19 domestic titles during his stints at the two glamour clubs.

He also coached Bafana Bafana at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations.
